1. Zero-Account & Zero-Password Design

Pumpkin Slices is built from the ground up for frictionless privacy. We do not require account registration, email sign-ups, or social logins to create or manage expense-splitting groups. Group security relies on optional passcode protection.

2. Information We Collect

When you create or participate in a group, we store minimal operational data necessary to calculate expense balances:

• Group Data: Group title, member names, expense items, amounts, categories, and timestamps.
• Security Hashes: Group passcodes are stored as salted one-way hashes (`passcode_hash`) and cannot be decrypted by anyone.
• Payment Data: Payment details for tier upgrades are handled exclusively by Stripe. We never collect, transmit, or store credit card numbers.

3. Data Retention & Group Cleanup

To maintain database hygiene and privacy, inactive groups undergo automated lifecycle cleanup:

• Free Tier Groups: Retained for up to 1 year of inactivity before automatic permanent cleanup.
• Unlocked Tier Groups ($1.99): Retained for up to 2 years of active access.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your group data or member information to advertisers or third parties. We utilize trusted infrastructure providers:

• Stripe: Payment processing infrastructure for group tier upgrades.
• Firebase / Supabase: Cloud database hosting for real-time group sync.
